EB DQS arrived

All Is Well :)

Madi is ok, she is on antibiotics now for an ear infection, poor little bugger :( But she is starting to pick up & is now hopefully on the mend.

Bray still has a rotten cough that he cant seem to shake, so I might have to take him to the Dr's & get him checked out as well, he seems ok other wise tho.

I had a scan today & we saw a little heart beat, beating away on the screen, I just couldn't believe it! My dates were out by 1 day so I am even more happy with that!! I am now 7wks 5days pregnant & due on the 15th May 2009, 9 days before Madi's 4th B'day. So that is going to be a very busy time!!!

I have managed to sandwich mum's quilt & plan to start quilting it in the next few days, her b'day is in about 2 weeks so I really have to get cracking!!

Anyway I am about to fall asleep sitting here!! So I am off to bed I think!!

Stressing!!!

Well this isn't a quilting or sewing post. Ad has just taken Madi of to the after hours clinic to see a Dr. She was complaining of a head ache near her temple at about 5ish, gave her panadol & she ended up going to sleep on me at about 6:30pm after complaining that her ear was sore, she woke up & has been screaming & VERY upset, pulling at her ear & seams to be in alot of pain.
I just so hope that she is OK, I hate not being able to be there with her, but I am not very good/confident driving at night, I get sleepy!!!

So now I just have to sit here, with Bray in bed sleeping soundly & pray that she is ok!!

Another Sneak Peak

Well the DQS is done, I just have to finish hand stitching the binding down & it is ready to go!! So here are a couple more criptic pic's, I have to be careful how much I show, or else it will give away the whole quilt. So enjoy :)

Not much else happening here at the moment, we have my niece who is 5 nearly 6 years olds staying with us for a few nights so that will be fun. Already tonight both girls have gotten up & been to the toilet about 3 times each!! Coming from Madi who NEVER gets out of bed at night! Oh well the joys of it, it will be a couple of busy days!!

EB DQS Update

Ok onto something a bit more cheery!!

I finished my EB DQS top today, woo hoo, doing a happy dance!! Here is a sneak peak:

I have never been part of a swap before, so I am just praying that my partner likes it & that it is up to there standard! I must say I am my own worse enemy at times! It is the first time that I have hand appliqued so I hope it looks alright!!

Anyway better be of, Ad has a movie ready for us to watch as there is CRAP on tv tonight! I am not in the footy at all!!

I'M LATE I KNOW I KNOW!!!

Ok so I was meant to update yesterday with results & I didn't get around to it, I'm SORRY!!!

Ok, scan looks good for this stage, 51/2weeks, can't really see much as it is so early, everything is where it should so I am booked in for another scan in 2 weeks, I will be 7 1/2 weeks my dates then so keeping everything crossed!!

Blood test was also good, Nicole (my Fertility Specialist) was really happy with then, my HCG levels are continuing to rise nicely & so is my progesterone (spelling??) so will have another blood test done next week as well & fingers crossed they are still going up!!

So at the moment everything is looking good, just have to wait out the next 2 weeks & see what happens, this is going to be a REALLY long 2 weeks!!

Pregnancy Update

Well I am 5weeks & 5 days today, I am of for a scan at 11am this morning & another blood test this afternoon, I started to spot yesterday, just in the morning. I have also spotted again this morning, more then yesterday. I really don't have high hopes for this little one.

I am just over it, I so want to have a large family yet have already had 7 pregnancies; 2 live children & 5 miscarriages, this one will take it total of 8 pregnancies with 6 miscarriages!

I am trying to stay positive, I had spotting with Bray from about 5weeks-10weeks so I keep thinking that hopefully that is all it is again, but I can't, I can't give myself false hope, I really think that this is all going to end badly.

To top it of, Ad doesn't think that at this stage he wants to try again, I am just so torn, I don't really want to have to go thru it all again, but at the same time I am not ready to give up just yet either!

AHHHHHHH this is all to hard!!

I will update when I have all my results, so probably want be until late tomorrow afternoon.

Quilting

I wish I was one of those people who think up some sort of witty title!!

Anyway, there hasn't been a great deal of "completed" projects happening here at the moment.
However I have completed a Dora raggy quilt for Madi, we found some Dora flannel at Spotlight for $3 a mt! I never buy licenced material as it is always to expensive, however I couldn't say no to $3 a mt!!

I have finished the Christmas quilt top for MIL, just need to sandwich/quilt/bind now, HAHAHA that won't happen for a bit, I still haven't done that to mum's quilt yet & it is her b'day next month!! Oh well I will get there.

I have finished hand appliquing a block for the EB DQS that I am doing, I just hope that my partner is nice, I have never hand appliqued before so I am bit scared that it won't be up to there standard! (insert nail biting emoticon!!), will see how I go I might do a sneak peak at some stage....

Long Time Between Posts!

Well I do have to apologise for it being so long between posts. I feel like I haven't stopped in the last couple of weeks!

Our house went on the market nearly 2 weeks ago now, it is a bit nerve racking selling it, mainly the questions, is someone going to like it enough to want to buy it, are we doing the right thing by selling,have we put a realistic figure on it! It is doing my head in at the moment! So I have decided that we can't change anything it is done, if is for sale & we ARE DOING THE RIGHT THING, for our family.

I also found out 2 weeks ago that I am pregnant again, so we are now up to pregnancy #8, hoping & praying for it to be our 3rd born child, I am now 5weeks & 3ish days pregnant, I am just counting down the days until I make it past 7 weeks, that is when I have lost the others. I am currently having weekly blood tests with my Fertility specialist & also weekly blood tests with my GP so I am having 2-3 blood tests done a week, I also have a scan book for Wednesday, I will only be 5weeks & 5days, so I am not expecting to see much, the lady that does the scans where I go leaves on Friday for a holiday for 1 week I think so that was the only time I could get in, I will also be having another scan done at just over 7 weeks & then maybe at 8 & 9 weeks, will depend when I can get an appointment with my OB at the hospital.

Man that was a whole lot of dribble!!!

I am going to end this post here & will do another one with what sewing & quilting I have been up to lately, all be it not much!!

Sewing Dresses

Well the last couple of days I have done 2 more shirt dresses & also another top for Madi, I guess you would call it a t.shirt dress, It was made out of a red bonds muscle tee.

I am really happy with how they have turned out, I am going to grab a couple of shirts & make my niece a couple of dresses as well.

Anyway, I have HEAPS more to write about, but I am tired as Bray hasn't slept much & he is stirring a bit now as well, so I just hope that it isn't a sign of the night to come!!

Tutorial for Shirt Dress

Now I thought that I had put the link in for the tutorial for the shirt dress that I made, however it seams that it is not there!!

So here it is: SHIRT DRESS as much as I would LOVE to take credit for it I did not come up with the pattern, it is VERY simple to make & I already have a few modifications in mind for it: different straps, length ect. So if you make one HAVE FUN. They would look good as a baby doll type top over a pair of leggings, so I am wanting to try that next. I guess I should add it to the list.... UMMM I guess I should write a list!!

Sewing Today

Well today I did some sewing, but it was not quilting related. I made Madi a skirt out of some rainbow sateen material that she "just had to have", so I agreed & made her a skirt, she has been hassling me for the last week to get it done, so I got of my butt & sewed it up this morning.

I also made a dress for DD out of a size 14 boys shirt, it was a billabong shirt & Adam was a bit upset that I was going to cut it up, however he is really pleased with the end result, as am I, I think that it is just divine! I will definitely be making more of these. I forgot to take a photo of the shirt before cutting it up so i quickly took one before I finished chopping it up. Will have to remember to get one before cutting next time.

Bargin Shopping

Well I got a nice surpise when I 'ducked' into Spotlight on Thursday, they had a big table with all the fabric rolls on it marked down to $2 a meter!! I could not believe it! I got 2 meters of a heap of cord & a couple of dress fabrics as well.


I also picked up some quilting cotton on sale for $4.99 a meter as well, it is to use to make Bray a trolley cover, Madi was never into chewing on the rails but Bray is! The little bugger!! I just need to get to Aldi & measure up the seat, I forgot to do it when shopping yesterday, I was unimpressed with myself when I drove of & remembered, I had wanted to get a start on it today.
I made Madi a pair of overalls, but I new pattern, the one I used is VERY old & she looks like a clown in them!! I have also cut out another pair for Bray, he looks really cute in his overalls.

Thank Goodness it is FRIDAY, now I just have to decide what to eat for tea.... I don't want to cook tonight!

Completed

Well I have had a couple of busy days, I finished the top for my mum's quilt on the weekend, I think she will get it for her b'day now, xmas is to far away!
It just needs to be sandwiched, quilted & the binding done, I plan to sandwich it tonight after the kiddies are in bed.

Yesterday I finished the ragged edge quilt for my niece for xmas, she is 12 & confined to a wheel chair so it should be perfect size for over her legs on those cold Melbourne winter days. I used flannel that I already had in my stash, I just brought extra for the purple backing.

Last night I sewed up a pair of overalls for Bray, I have snapped the crotch of the today & now just need him to wake so that I can try them on him! I altered the pattern slightly, I added the snaps in the crotch & changed the lining in it so that it had some colour. I am pretty happy with how they have turned out. I think they are going to be WAY to long for him tho, so I really want to try them on him & get an action shot!
Ok time to head of, I want to use some of the left over cord to make a little pouch bag for the back of my pram. Then I think that I need to make myself a list of things to complete, I have a few things I want to do & keep getting side tracked!

Back dating

Well I thought that I should probably do a bit of a back date on a couple of quilts that I have made in the last yr, seams my blog is only new I figured they might as well be added now :)

This is a wall hanging I did for Madi's 3rd b'day for her room, she has a bit of a butterfly theme going on in there at the moment, not sure if is her or me that likes the butterflies more!This is a toy mat that I made for Bray, I got it all done in a couple of days just before I had surgry a couple of weeks ago, I then sewed the binding on in front of the tv & bed, since I couldnt do anything else! Please excuse Bray on it, I am yet to get a picture without one of the kids on it!


I have also made a quilt for Bray's cot, but he is asleep at the moment, it is pretty simple, I made it to narrow so it doesnt fit his bed properly! Oh well gives me an excuse to make him another one!

WIP time

Well I have finaly got organised & got some photos taken!

This is 1 of 2 blocks I have completed for mum's quilt for Xmas, I have about 7 more to go, I was on a role with them this morning & then discovered after completing 2 more that I had stuffed up the center points, so they had to be unpicked & ALL redone! But never mind they are all fixed & now just need to be joined together, thank goodness, I was a bit sad to think that I might have stuffed it all together.I popped into Spotlight yesterday & got some material that was on clearance, I want to get back sometime over the weekend & pick up some more shhhhh don't tell Ad! Not sure what I will do with all of it, I have my cousins 21st coming up next month so I am thinking of making her a satchel type bag to use for uni. So will prob use some of for that I would say, have a couple of ideas for tops/dresses for Madi & 1 lot would be good to line a bag with.
I just cant seam to find nice boys material, is is starting to drive me mad!
Oh better go, Bray is awake & calling & Madi is wanting some tea, so had better get everyone sorted.

Another Day

Man I really should start making a point of getting in here everyday, this is crazy!

Well in the last few days, I have made a good start on my mum's quilt for xmas, unless I cave & give it to her for her b'day in October. So far I am really happy with the way it is coming together, I will get a picture tomorrow & get a WIP shot up.

I have SO many different ideas/things that I want to make & I just don't know where to start, I really need to make a list & start crossing things of as I go, it might feel like I am actually getting somewhere!

Bray said "dada" on Sunday afternoon while Adam was holding him, it really made Ad's day! He was 1 very proud daddy!!

Madi is growing up everyday, we are trying to decide where to send her for kinder/primary/secondary college. At this stage we have narrowed it to Hillcrest, which is a private kinder-yr12 school, I am just waiting for a call to arange an interview & then hopefully they will offer us a place. I really hope they do, I am packing myself about having an interview though! I will have to keep you updated :)

Anyway enough dribble for tonight, I will get some WIP shots done tomorrow & will start writing up a TO DO List.

What a week!

Well it has been an interesting week I must say, I am still recovering from having my gall bladder removed 2 weeks ago now, I am still just a little bit tender, doesn't help that I am lifting Bray & he is 8 1/2 months & weighs about 11kgs already! Then to top it all of, Madi has a throat infection, Bray ended up in hospital on Saturday night with difficulty breathing, he is now on ventolin 3hrly, antibiotics for an ear infection & other medication for croup (can't think what it is called at the moment!). But alas that is the life of a mum with 2 kids!! They are all getting better so that is something at least.

Adam is away tonight on a work conference, he is lucky to have an overnight conference once a yr, but I still hate when he is not here :( I miss him greatly that is for sure, the kids miss him to, they have both been a bit difficult to get down to sleep, I am just keeping everything crossed that they are both asleep now!!

Anyway I suppose that I really should put a picture in of something I have been doing!
This is the quilt top that I am making for Adam's mum for Christmas, I just need to find a nice colour for the boarder, then sandwich, quilt & bind. I am pretty happy with how it has turned out so far :)
I used two charm packs & when finished will be a good size for a lap quilt, just hope that MIL likes it!

Time To Start

Well I figured that it was about time I stopped stalking other peoples blogs & get into some of the action myself!!

So here I am late on a Sunday evening setting up a blog, when I should really be thinking about heading of to bed after having had only 2 hrs sleep last night.

The plan for my blog is more for away for me to keep a bit of a record of the things I make/start to make for myself/family/friends.

I will probably come in here & vent when I need to about everyday life & share the good & bad news of my life, hoping for more good then bad tho!!

Anyway enough of the rambles from me for one night, time to have a bit of a fiddle & upload some photos....hmmm I should really take a few more pic's.... add it to the list!!
