Quilting

I wish I was one of those people who think up some sort of witty title!!

Anyway, there hasn't been a great deal of "completed" projects happening here at the moment.
However I have completed a Dora raggy quilt for Madi, we found some Dora flannel at Spotlight for $3 a mt! I never buy licenced material as it is always to expensive, however I couldn't say no to $3 a mt!!

I have finished the Christmas quilt top for MIL, just need to sandwich/quilt/bind now, HAHAHA that won't happen for a bit, I still haven't done that to mum's quilt yet & it is her b'day next month!! Oh well I will get there.

I have finished hand appliquing a block for the EB DQS that I am doing, I just hope that my partner is nice, I have never hand appliqued before so I am bit scared that it won't be up to there standard! (insert nail biting emoticon!!), will see how I go I might do a sneak peak at some stage....

Long Time Between Posts!

Well I do have to apologise for it being so long between posts. I feel like I haven't stopped in the last couple of weeks!

Our house went on the market nearly 2 weeks ago now, it is a bit nerve racking selling it, mainly the questions, is someone going to like it enough to want to buy it, are we doing the right thing by selling,have we put a realistic figure on it! It is doing my head in at the moment! So I have decided that we can't change anything it is done, if is for sale & we ARE DOING THE RIGHT THING, for our family.

I also found out 2 weeks ago that I am pregnant again, so we are now up to pregnancy #8, hoping & praying for it to be our 3rd born child, I am now 5weeks & 3ish days pregnant, I am just counting down the days until I make it past 7 weeks, that is when I have lost the others. I am currently having weekly blood tests with my Fertility specialist & also weekly blood tests with my GP so I am having 2-3 blood tests done a week, I also have a scan book for Wednesday, I will only be 5weeks & 5days, so I am not expecting to see much, the lady that does the scans where I go leaves on Friday for a holiday for 1 week I think so that was the only time I could get in, I will also be having another scan done at just over 7 weeks & then maybe at 8 & 9 weeks, will depend when I can get an appointment with my OB at the hospital.

Man that was a whole lot of dribble!!!

I am going to end this post here & will do another one with what sewing & quilting I have been up to lately, all be it not much!!

Sewing Dresses

Well the last couple of days I have done 2 more shirt dresses & also another top for Madi, I guess you would call it a t.shirt dress, It was made out of a red bonds muscle tee.

This is what I started with:

I am really happy with how they have turned out, I am going to grab a couple of shirts & make my niece a couple of dresses as well.

Anyway, I have HEAPS more to write about, but I am tired as Bray hasn't slept much & he is stirring a bit now as well, so I just hope that it isn't a sign of the night to come!!

Tutorial for Shirt Dress

Now I thought that I had put the link in for the tutorial for the shirt dress that I made, however it seams that it is not there!!

So here it is: SHIRT DRESS as much as I would LOVE to take credit for it I did not come up with the pattern, it is VERY simple to make & I already have a few modifications in mind for it: different straps, length ect. So if you make one HAVE FUN. They would look good as a baby doll type top over a pair of leggings, so I am wanting to try that next. I guess I should add it to the list.... UMMM I guess I should write a list!!

Sewing Today

Well today I did some sewing, but it was not quilting related. I made Madi a skirt out of some rainbow sateen material that she "just had to have", so I agreed & made her a skirt, she has been hassling me for the last week to get it done, so I got of my butt & sewed it up this morning.

I also made a dress for DD out of a size 14 boys shirt, it was a billabong shirt & Adam was a bit upset that I was going to cut it up, however he is really pleased with the end result, as am I, I think that it is just divine! I will definitely be making more of these. I forgot to take a photo of the shirt before cutting it up so i quickly took one before I finished chopping it up. Will have to remember to get one before cutting next time.

Bargin Shopping

Well I got a nice surpise when I 'ducked' into Spotlight on Thursday, they had a big table with all the fabric rolls on it marked down to $2 a meter!! I could not believe it! I got 2 meters of a heap of cord & a couple of dress fabrics as well.


I also picked up some quilting cotton on sale for $4.99 a meter as well, it is to use to make Bray a trolley cover, Madi was never into chewing on the rails but Bray is! The little bugger!! I just need to get to Aldi & measure up the seat, I forgot to do it when shopping yesterday, I was unimpressed with myself when I drove of & remembered, I had wanted to get a start on it today.
I made Madi a pair of overalls, but I new pattern, the one I used is VERY old & she looks like a clown in them!! I have also cut out another pair for Bray, he looks really cute in his overalls.

Thank Goodness it is FRIDAY, now I just have to decide what to eat for tea.... I don't want to cook tonight!
